Fees start at £250 for a 2 hour session, £450 per half day and £950 for a full day.
Autumn 2026 online training workshops:
Monday 14th September 10am – 1pm: ethical practice for working with children and young people
Monday 12th October 10am – 1pm: working ethically with risk
Monday 9th November 10am – 1pm: neurodivergence in the therapy room
Monday 7th December 10am – 1pm: therapeutic relationship building with children and young people
There are limited numbers for each workshop to foster a comfortable and safe environment. Working online may have a different feel to face to face workshops, but a level of participation will be expected, with time for reflection, small group work, large group work.

Monday 14th September 10am – 1pm: ethical practice for working with children and young people
How is working therapeutically with children different from working with adults?
While some skills are transferable there are distinct differences.
This workshop is designed to explore Ethical and Relational ways of working with Children and Young People to ensure sound, ethical, professional good practice.
We will explore recommended competencies and how these fit in with your current skillset with focus on the areas that require careful consideration and legal knowledge:
• The law and ethical requirements
• Contracting and boundaries
• Child protection and risk management
Monday 12th October 10am – 1pm: working ethically with risk
The topic of risk can create a lot of anxiety for counsellors. We may have fears
around getting things wrong, making things worse or struggling with the impact
on our own mental health of managing clients with a level of self-harm or suicidal
ideation.
This training is designed to support counsellors and therapists in this difficult work.
We will look at different aspects:
• Explore our own beliefs around suicide and self-harm
• Examine risk assessment – the importance of asking the right questions in the right way
• Breaking confidentiality – be more confident in when and how
• Safety plans: look at the benefits and potential pitfalls of safety planning
• Explore risk protocols
• Emphasise self-care of the therapist when working with risk
Monday 9th November 10am – 1pm: neurodivergence in the therapy room
There has been an exponential increase in awareness and diagnosis of Neurodiversity and Neurodivergence.
In this workshop we look at what it means for therapy.
- understand our own frame of reference about neurodiversity
- Understand the impact of neurodivergence on mental Health of adults and CYP
- How might therapy be different?
- What will help support your work with this client group?
- Case studies – using examples, explore ways of working.
- Exploring diagnosis implications
Monday 7th December 10am – 1pm: therapeutic relationship building with children and young people
This workshop examines the importance of developing sound therapeutic relationships when working with children and. young people.
We will look at:
- our own frame of reference around our childhood
- how to engage cyp
- attachment and the implications for the therapeutic relationship
- limitations of the work – time limited sessions, parental involvement, school
